The project features a 1.3 acre polar bear habitat with a 167,000 gallon saltwater pool. Spectacular underwater views into this pool are afforded with a 30 foot long acrylic “J” window. The grizzly bear habitat is almost an acre and features a 42,000 gallon freshwater pool stocked with trout.
In a simulated abandoned mining building set in the Alaskan wilderness, additional exhibit components include a children’s activity zone, a new food and beverage venue, and an interpretive center.
